Grandpa's Prayers By Cathrine Huff
In the darkest dept and most sinful walk of our adult lives, we came so close to death on a mountain road in broad daylight. There were four of us in the car that afternoon. We were following another car down a very steep hill near Georgetown, California. As we crept cautiously down the winding, two lane road, we could see the deep canyon on the right side of the car and a steep bank with oncoming traffic on the left. Fear gripped our hearts just being on that old road. The mountains were high, but in the canyon below was a flowing river known by its rugged name, the Rubicon. From time to time we glanced at the water as we traveled down the hill, for we knew all too well that there was no surviving the fall if our vehicle went over the edge.
We still had a couple miles left to reach the bottom of the hill. The car ahead was very slow, which made our driver impatient. He began cursing the motorist ahead for driving to slow. Just then he made a quick decision to pass the car in the lead. Thinking out loud he said, "Surely no one is coming up this hill to meet us around the corner." and he pulled out to pass. Suddenly we met an eighteen wheeler face to face. We could plainly see the driver's face filled with fear. We through up our hands and braced ourselves for what was next. Suddenly the strangest thing happened to us, we were instantly in front of the car we were passing and on the right side of the road.
In shock, I turned around in my seat and looked back at the truck as it was still slowly going up the hill and disappeared out of sight. No one in our car said a word. We couldn't understand what had just happened. We sat in silence all the way to town. It was such a mysterious event that we didn't even discuss it. For several years we wondered how we could be in danger one moment, with a definite accident that should have happened, then the next moment we were out of danger.
No one in the car that day knew Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. There were three adults and one child. All three of us adults would have died without God. We didn't know the Lord, nor did we want to know Him. We were following after worldly idols and everything we thought we could get out of this life. Hell was waiting and it would have been our eternal home if it wasn't for God's mercy. The Lord knew it was not our time to die.
Ten years passed. I was remarried and had given my heart to Jesus. Then one day as I was relaxing in a comfortable chair reading the Bible, I noticed a scripture that really stood out to me. I read it over and over again and all of a sudden I knew what happened on the mountain that day. Yes, God had commanded His angels to move our car to safety. It could be nothing else. They had set us on the right side of the road without any harm. God was merciful. He had been patiently waiting for us to finally get to the place where we would believe on His Son Jesus and be saved. God's plans could not be interrupted. We would live another day, believe, and be saved.
I have seen many miracles God has performed, have heard testimonies of His miraculous deliverance, and know that as His children, we inherit his promises.
Again and again I read Psalm 91:11-16 and daily make it my own. I own these scriptures and claim them as mine. They are yours too. Here is a very small portion of scripture that you have inherited if you are a believer in Jesus. Make it your own.
Ps 91:11-16
For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. (Trample the Devil)
"Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation." NKJV
You may have had a close call that you can't explain how you survived. It may have been an answer to prayer for someone who was praying for you. I believe God has special prayer warriors praying for each one of us. He knows those who are obedient that He can trust to pray at the right time. I also believe that is what happened for us. I know of one such man that used to pray for us all the time. It was my grandpa. He was a praying man and obedient to the Lord. To this day I believe God acted upon my grandpa's prayers and saved us out of the fires of Hell.
If you know someone that is living without God in the world and you are hoping that some day they will finally give up their worldly ways and fall in love with Jesus. Keep hoping and praying. You may be the one God calls to pray for that friend or family member living without God. Your prayers will come alive as you pray the prayer of faith, just like my grandpa.

When Faith Is Tested: This is a time of monumental transition for our world, and each of our lives is being affected by the larger planetary transformations that are happening. Many of us who are on a spiritual path and living a spiritual life feel dismayed by the great intensity that is manifesting in our lives, our relationships, and even our physical bodies.
The Healing Presence of God's Love: God's love as a healing presence in the world is growing stronger daily. Many people are not yet able to perceive this growing presence of light, ecause there also exists at this time a thick cloud of negative energy that is surrounding the Earth. This acts to obscure both the perception and the consciousness of people, and to create feelings of isolation and despair.
