"Our Father in Heaven"
You are my God, my Savior and my Father. You fill the earth, the seas,
the sky and the heavens, and you fill my heart. I am your child and you
love me. All good things come from you and if I ask, you will give me
the desires of my heart. You are with me wherever I go and you promised
that you would never leave me. You live in light, so when I am enjoying
times of blessing, you are there. You live in darkness, so that when I
am troubled or feeling alone, you are there. I can never escape your
love.

"May your name be kept holy"
I will honour and
glorify your name, for it is mighty and holy. It is a name that is
above every name in heaven and in earth. You are all-powerful,
all-knowing and all-holy and your name is to be both praised and
feared. At the mention of your name I will bow and acknowledge you as
Lord, for there is salvation in no other. You are the Holy One of
Israel.
"May your Kingdom come soon. May your
will be done on earth as it is in Heaven"
As I
wait for the return of your Son, I ask only that your will be done in
my life. If that brings joy, then may your will be done. If that brings
sorrow, then may your will be done. You are my strength and my strong
tower and I will run to you. I will accept what you have for my life
without complaint and I will honour you in all things. I will put you
first above everything else in my life, above my family and my career,
above my hobbies and leisure and above the things I want to own and
keep for myself. Without you I am nothing and I want my will to conform
to your will.
"Give us today the food we need"
Provide the things I need, so that I may care for my family,
and let me not worry about what tomorrow may bring. I lay all my hopes,
dreams and ambitions at your feet, asking that you take them, bless
them and use them for your glory. Provide for my family both physically
and spiritually. Physically, as in food, clothing, shelter and good
health. Spiritually, as in a closer walk with you.
"And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us"
I accept the gift of salvation through the sacrifice of
Jesus Christ. Forgive me for the many mistakes that I make each day and
help me to forgive those who offend or hurt me by their words or
actions. Let me always remember Jesus' words as he hung on the cross,
"Father, forgive them for they know not what they do". Give me the
heart of Jesus so that I may also forgive others.
"And don't let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one"
Author: Emmet Fox; Buy New: $11.16 |
Temptation comes from Satan, not from you, and you have promised not to
allow me to be tempted above what I am able to bear. And though I know
temptation will come from time to time, I pray that it will not cause
me to be led astray. With your help I will keep my eyes on you, for you
are the author and finisher of my salvation. Deliver me from the snares
of the evil one. Let me be always vigilant and on guard. Be my guide
and my deliverer.
"For yours is the kingdom and
the power and the glory forever"
I acknowledge
that you are in control of everything, even when it seems that
everything is falling apart. I give you complete control of my life,
and of my thoughts and actions. You have immense power and I am like a
speck of sand, yet you love me and want what is best for me. May my
life bring honour and glory to your name. All honour and glory belongs
to you and you alone.
"Amen."
So be it. Hear my words and answer my prayer.
